Mr Glad was the darkly cabaretic annogrammatic cousin of the deceased and infinitely more famous Dr Glam. A seventy-five-cent (less if you shopped around) act in a seven dollar world. Mr Glad would invite his audiences to leave their day-to-day self at the door and grant themselves the license to dream, flirt, pretend and pose a little; to come over to the lizard-skin side of life and become who/what they’d like to be if no-one else was watching.
